Natural Asset Management Challenge Dialogue

Read the reports on a challenging dialogue that responded to natural infrastructure (NI) and natural asset management (NAM) norms, identified core competencies, and explored user-needs related to NAM training.

Working with the Natural Assets Initiative (NAI), this work builds on the efforts of the Adaptation Learning Network and the Resilience By Design lab led by Dr. Robin Cox at Royal Roads University. The final report outlines engagement methods and outcomes, with thanks to a multi-stakeholder/rights holder group who informed a survey through a Challenge Paper questionnaire and a virtual dialogue through the NAM Challenge Dialogue Workshop.

The project aims to support the ongoing evolution of natural asset management by identifying opportunities for effective education and training to help mainstream the practice across Canada. Ultimately, we invite everyone to use this work to inform the design and development of learning opportunities and contribute to upskilling the Canadian workforce to implement and mainstream NAM.
